On January 7, 2026, Renee Nicole Good was killed by ICE Agent Jonathan Ross, who shot her four times while she was trying to drive away. This happened in broad daylight a few blocks from her home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was witnessed by multiple bystanders, and was captured on video from different angles. On January 24, just 17 days later, 37-year-old intensive care nurse Alex Pretti was shot multiple times by ICE agents also in Minneapolis, also in broad daylight, and also in front of multiple witnesses. In my opinion, these weren’t just cold-blooded murders—they were executions.
In the case of Renee Nicole Good, the Department of Homeland Security’s official policy (see page 7) clearly states:
“Deadly force shall not be used solely to prevent the escape of a fleeing subject…DHS LEOs are prohibited from discharging firearms at the operator of a moving vehicle…the LEO must take into consideration the hazards that may be posed to law enforcement and innocent bystanders by an out-of-control conveyance.”
In the case of both Renee Good and Alex Pretti, DHS policy further states:
“Discharging a firearm against a person constitutes the use of deadly force and shall be done only with the intent of preventing or stopping the threatening behavior that justifies the use of deadly force.”
In other words, the only time deadly force is justified is if the life of a civilian or an LEO (law enforcement officer) is in danger, which wasn’t the case with Renee Good nor Alex Pretti. Also take note that the date of this Homeland Security document is September 7, 2018. And guess who was president of the United States in 2018? Donald Trump!
As reported by CNN, Renee Good never attempted to use her vehicle to run over ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who violated ICE policy by placing himself in front of her vehicle. She obviously turned her wheels to the right to go around him. And Ross clearly then moved to the side of Good’s vehicle as he continued to fire more shots. Good’s SUV, now driverless, went a short distance before ramming into another car. And the Trump Administration’s claims that Ross was run over by Good and that he even suffered internal injuries were, in my opinion, complete hogwash. Ross was never knocked down and was filmed and photographed walking away perfectly fine. The most Good’s vehicle could have done was just graze him because he put himself in front of the vehicle, which he never needed to do and wasn’t supposed to do in the first place.
As a senior Department of Homeland Security official explained to NBC News, “ICE officers are trained to never approach a vehicle from the front.”
As for Alex Pretti, CBS News reported here and here that while it is true that he was carrying a handgun, which he was legally allowed to carry because he had a permit, it was holstered the whole time. He never threatened ICE agents with it. All Pretti was holding in his hand was a cell phone recording what was happening. ICE goons started shoving two women around for no reason, Paretti tried to help one of them up, and they sprayed him with a chemical irritant, then ganged up on him, wrestled him to the ground, started beating him, took his holstered gun, and while he was helpless on his hands and knees, began shooting him multiple times until he was dead.
Naturally, Trump and his minions, pathological liars that they are, began telling outlandish whoppers to justify the shootings, as reported here, here, and here. They have labeled peaceful protesters against ICE and Trump’s administration agitators and “domestic terrorists.” And talk about hypocrisy, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem denounced Alex Pretti for carrying a gun, yet conveniently ignored how Trump pardoned over 430 violent protesters armed with guns at the January 6, 2021 attempted coup to keep him in power. Let’s also not forget that Trump wants to attack Iran to protect the protesters against that horrible regime, yet condones violence against protesters who oppose his oppressive regime.
In 1954, Congress passed the Communist Control Act, which outlawed the Communist Party. It was enacted out of the fear that communists wanted to overthrow the US government. But the Communist Party never had any significant power in the US. However, there is a political party with enormous power that wants to overthrow democracy and replace America’s secular government with a religious theocracy, a party whose color is also Russian red. That party is the Republican Party. So, I say, let’s abolish ICE, the rest of the Department of Homeland Security, the Republican Party, and, if we can’t reform it, the Democratic Party because it usually enables the Republicans. With that goal in mind, listen to these two moving musical tributes to Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti. May they motivate you to work to make America live up to its creed and become a nation that truly stands for liberty and justice for all.

I totally agree with you Michael.
It’s sad that anyone still supports Trump.
End the two party system!

Yes, it is very sad.

These are two of multiple murders by ICE. (53) Trump snd Vance have murdered hundreds in the Carribean and 4.7 million in 57 wars of choice. These crimes are rank treason.

Correct. Thank you for pointing that out, Tim.

I like libertarians (your articles seem to be written in the libertarian perspective). I have a lot in common with libertarians as a minarchist conservative, but they just aren’t very pragmatic people. Yes the libertarian utopia sounds blissful, but how do you get there? Certainly not by inviting millions of people into your country who will vote for socialism. I am sure you have figured out the voting patterns of these “immigrants.”
To begin considering the lack of pragmatism, there’s a significant faction of libertarians who believe in open borders. Countries need borders for the same reason your house has a lock: So that your wife and children can sleep well at night without drug addicts and thieves freely walking around your home. It is intellectually dishonest to criticize specific ICE actions when really, in reality, the problem lies with any enforcement of immigration law at all.
Let’s consider the legality of ICE enforcement. Both sides can bring forth legal experts which will swear by their mothers that the other side is in the wrong. That being the case, let’s not pretend that one side has “proven” that they are in the right.
Honestly this article reeks of propaganda right from the first line, “Good was killed by ICE Agent Jonathan Ross, who shot her four times while she was trying to drive away.” If you want to at least appear to be objective, you should describe the events that led up to her being there. She spent the entire day (weeks) harassing and obstructing ICE.
Since my last discussion with a libertarian on this subject, I was pulled over by the police again. I was involved in a road rage where the fellow was following me. I slammed on my brakes a few times and he called me in to the police. When I was pulled over, I turned off my vehicle and put my hands on the steering wheel. Two more patrol cars came shortly. I was stopped for 20 minutes. After taking all my information, the officer told me, “thanks for stopping.” I found that hilarious, but maybe not so much. Apparently people need to be told the obvious. The lesson is simple. When the police stop you or arrest you, DO NOT RESIST! If you fight the police and die, you won’t find any tears in my eyes.

You’re making a lot of assumptions about me and are ignoring the facts presented in my article. Did you actually read it? First and foremost, I’m not a Libertarian. My political philosophy is liberal socialism. Meaning, I support the expansion and protection of civil liberties and individual freedom, but unlike libertarians, I don’t support unregulated business and wealth accumulation. I support a strong social safety net run by government and heavily regulated private industry. Capitalism and socialism need to balance each other. And there should be no billionaires or super wealthy people. The most wealth any person or household should have is around 15 million. And all elections must be publicly financed. That said, your statement about different opinions on the murders of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti are a cop out. What did I state that was propaganda? ICE is required to follow rules when it comes to the use of deadly force which I posted and quoted in my article. They are not allowed to shoot someone who is trying to flee and while they are in a moving vehicle. They are not supposed to position themselves in front of a moving vehicle. That is fact, not opinion. It doesn’t matter if Renee Good and Alex Pretti were opposing ICE. Millions of people are opposing Trump and ICE, which is their First Amendment right. They are not obligated to obey an unconstitutional occupying force. Your pointless story about your encounter with the police is a red herring. It has no bearing on my article. I’ve had encounters with the police too and was never abused either. But that doesn’t change the fact that thousands of other people are abused and killed. You sound like someone who supports what the police do no matter how wrong and horrible. People like that are known as copsuckers. You also seem to be lacking in empathy because you think none of Trump’s sadistic and cruel policies will ever affect you. You are wrong. No one is safe under a tyrannical out of control government. This is why we must care about and protect the rights of everyone. And I doubt if you even know what socialism is and only US citizens can vote, As for you being a minarchist conservative, that’s an oxymoron if ever I heard one.
